Renowned for its exquisite lingerie, classic and fashion hosiery and swimwear creations, La Perla was established in 1954 as a corset boutique in Bologna. The distinctive name was inspired by the jewel-lined red velvet cases in which the first products were delivered. Still a luxurious proposition, designer Jean Paul Gaultier recently described La Perla as ‘the pearl of the lingerie, with the best savoir faire’.
