The words Olivier Baussan, founder of L'OCCITANE, are still a fitting introduction to a company that, despite being over 30 years old and world renowned, nevertheless continues to work in the small Provençal town of Manosque, inspired by the traditions and techniques of the unspoiled land of Provence.
The company prides itself on using high-quality, traceable, natural ingredients (controlled-origin label, organic agriculture, sourced from local farming communities and sustainable development programmes), and on its preference for plant oils rather than mineral oils, amongst other things. From almond shower oil and moisturising red rice face fluid to shea butter foot cream made with lavender oil and arnica extract – popular with men – there is something for every whim.
