Since 1925 French cast-iron specialist company Le Creuset has been producing reassuringly heavy, enamelled cookware in a riot of rustic colours. In 1924 two Belgian industrialists, Armand Desaegher (a casting specialist) and Octave Aubecq (an enamelling specialist), met at the Brussels Fair. They decided to create a foundry that would enamel various cookware items. A year later Le Creuset® was born and they set up business in Fresnoy-le-Grand in Aisne, France. Today, the durability of this iconic brand’s products means they are handed down from generation to generation, becoming part of a family’s domestic heritage.
