Mince pies, mulled wine and one too many chocolates from the tree… all sounding a little too familiar? Come January, enough is enough and after two weeks of pure indulgence, it’s time to get it together.
So, to help kick-start our new year reboot, we’ve called upon the help of holistic health coach, blogger, chef and all round wellness guru, Madeleine Shaw.
Here’s a play-by-play of how she gets back on track. So much goodness.
I usually wake up at around this time and head straight downstairs for a large glass of water, which I have with my probiotics. Then it’s back upstairs to get dressed into my yoga gear.
I’ll always do one of my Glow Guides yoga classes. It stretches me out and I get all my daily movement done for the day.
I have a shower and a sing-song and then get dressed, followed by smothering my face in lots of lovely beauty products. I love Origins GinZing energy-boosting moisturiser.
Breakfast! I usually have an omelette with mushrooms, spinach and rye bread.
Time to head to the office and crack on with emails.
I go food shopping at my local health food store Planet Organic and pick up what I need for recipe testing that day. Then it’s straight back home to get my cook on!
Lunch time. My team and I will take a break to eat together. We usually eat the recipes that I have been testing.
I’ll snack on an energy bar or some Ombar chocolate with a cup of herbal tea.
I head home from the office and make dinner for my boyfriend and me. My go-to speedy supper recipe at the moment is my pan-fried trout with cucumber, apple and dill salad from my book Ready Steady Glow. It’s always a winner.
A cup of Rooibos tea while watching television. I am currently obsessed with Westworld and Humans, with sometimes (often) more chocolate.
We head to bed and normally end up chatting until 11 pm. I do a meditation before I go to sleep if I'm feeling particularly wired.
