ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: OUR CHAT WITH ALICE...
Which artists old or new inspire you the most? "I listened to all of the classic female vocalists when growing up, such as Whitney, Mariah & Beyoncé and have definitely taken inspiration from them. Most recently though since writing my own music, I like to draw inspiration from the likes of Tori Kelly and JP Cooper, a slightly R&B, Pop vibe."
When you start working on a new idea or song what is the first thing you do to kick start the idea? "Play around with my guitar and finding interesting chord progressions - or chords that help write the song itself, giving emotion naturally."
Are there any producers or artists you would love to collaborate with? "I would love to write with JP Cooper, as we have a similar kind of vibe, and I think his voice is incredible which would be great to work with. I'd love to produce a track with Martin Garrix even though he's far more 'Housey' than my vibe, but I love all his hits and think it would be so so fun."
What is your go to track of the moment? "Probably JP Cooper's new track, 'The Only Reason'! I heard it years ago at an acoustic session and he has finally released a studio version."
Do you prefer performing live or studio recording? "Live – its such a great feeling and so nice to be able to captivate people in front of you and interact with them."
What’s next for you this year? "So I've just released my Debut EP 'Handprints' which hit number 3 in the singer songwriter iTunes charts, and I've just got my band together. So it's going to be a lot of gigging and working on my new tunes."
Who are your style icons and why? "I absolutely love Ariana Grande's current vibe, really edgy and cool, but with a perfect balance of glamour."
What’s your ‘go to’ item of clothing for any stage performance? "I love off the shoulder items, think they can make anything look put together. I also love wearing oversized denim."
Why are you excited to perform at Bicester Village? "I have been going to Bicester Village since I was little, so to play there will be so fun. There is so much variety in the village, both age and nationality, so I can't wait to showcase my music to a really great audience."
