Furla: Nine styles, nine decades

Brand Spotlight

Nine styles, nine decades of history.

Style Edit

Furla’s mini crossbody bag with its interchangeable flaps will elevate your accessory game, this season and beyond.

Furla is celebrating its 90th anniversary with a limited collection of its iconic Metropolis handbag.  The My Play Furla capsule collection is available in five different base colours with nine interchangeable flaps, each inspired by the music of a decade, from the 1920s to the 2000s. With so many options to choose between, we want to own them all!

1920S CHARLESTON

You don’t have to dance the Charleston to wear this Art Deco-inspired piece, but if you kick up your heels when you throw on this stunning number, we won’t stop you! The muted colours and modern lines makes it a versatile accessory, so why not channel your inner flapper girl and team with a loose, sparkly dress for full-blown razzle dazzle.

1930S JAZZ

Animal print – check.  Fur - check. Stud detail – check. The perfect ingredients to a modern yet timeless style that will grace the shoulders of the most stylish fashion devotees. Wear with denim, clashing animal print and a pop of colour to bring your OOTD bang on-trend.

1940S SWING

If this bag was a person, we’d call it Marilyn. Wear across your body with a jumpsuit and flats to add a cheeky twist to a daytime look, or team with a LBD, red lip and killer heels for pure pin-up style!

1950S ROCK & ROLL

Rock this retro-inspired number around the clock! From day to night, it’s a sure-fire winner – team with a modern leather jacket and a pair of denim crop jeans and watch the fashion pack gather.

1960S BEAT

Don’t miss a beat with this bold and quirky bag, destined to become your new go-to accessory. The flap is a turntable resting on a Union Jack flag – the Italian brand’s homage to a British era of music and wanderlust. Like a favourite vinyl you want to replay, you can wear this novelty bag over and over with any outfit and for every occasion.

1970S DISCO

Did someone say D.I.S.C.O.? It’s the 70s trend that will never go out of fashion. When it comes to glitter and sparkle, this sassy bag has both in abundance. It’s in your best interest to invest in fashion’s past by teaming with fur, sequins and a pair of denim flared jeans and hit the dancefloor – pronto!

1980S PUNK

Punk is most definitely still alive, reincarnated in this off-beat mini bag. But you don’t need to go full-on grunge to pull off a modern-day punk style; take inspiration from the street style bloggers and turn to vintage band T-shirts, oversized silhouettes and clashing prints –  or play it a little safer with a dash of leather and this 80s revival bag to complete your look.

1990S HIP HOP TECHNO

#TBT a decade of hip hop, gangsta rap and a deluge of bling with Furla’s more refined take on 90s style. History has a habit of repeating itself and we’ve spotted an influx of choker necklaces, iridescent make-up and platform brogues making a fashion revival on the street style scene. Give a nod to 90s cool by adding this bag to your attire – wear it with a berry lip, leather biker jacket and floral skater dress to propel the trend straight back into the future.

2000S

It’s hard to believe that Y2K was almost two decades ago! Believe it or not, ‘the noughties’ are making a comeback. Dust off your low-rise denim, grab this futuristic-inspired bag and get ready to party like its 1999. Failing that, add it to your work-week wardrobe and allow the shimmering rhinestones and robotic detailing to add a strong twist to even the most conservative of outfits.
