ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: OUR CHAT WITH LUKE

Which artists old or new inspire you the most? "Kings of Leon, Sam Cooke, Paolo Nutini."

When you start working on a new idea or song what is the first thing you do to kick-start the idea? "I usually start with the lyrics but occasionally I can start with a little melody hook or a chord pattern."

Are there any producers or artists you would love to collaborate with? "I would love to collaborate with Rhodes as a producer and with Chris Martin as a songwriter."

What is your go-to track of the moment? "My go-to track at the minute is Walls by Kings of Leon".

Do you prefer performing live or studio recording?  "I love both for different reasons, I love the flexibility and creativity of being in the studio and creating something new. On the other hand, I love getting the opportunity to share my music in a live situation and getting the chance to see people engage with it."

Are you heading to or performing at any festivals this year? "I’m currently recording a four-track EP, the first track is to be released in September 2017."

What’s next for you this year? "My go-to item of clothing has to be a pair of sunglasses… can’t beat a pair of shades to hide behind."

Who are your style icons and why?  "I can’t wait to perform at Bicester Village, such a great place full of such a diverse group of amazing music lovers."
