Fitness & Lifestyle Edit

Your gym class has never looked so glam.

Bicester Village

Sometimes all you need to kick you back into action come January is a brand new fitness regime - and FYI, pounding the treadmil or sweating it out at a regular spin class is so last year. Here are the classes you need to try now.

Life after the holidays is tough; reality resumes and you realise that stuffing your face and drinking too much for the last month probably wasn’t the best idea. Yet, doesn’t it sounds so much more appealing than squeezing yourself into Lycra and hitting the gym? Think of BECYCLE as all the fun of the holidays without any of the bad stuff. Boasting a nightclub-ready sound system and near pitch black lighting, this spin studio offers themed classes morning, noon and night. Go ahead – sweat, scream and sing like nobody’s watching.

Le Tigre, Paris

In the heart of the Left Bank, Le Tigre’s newest outpost is one of the chicest yoga studios in the city. The inviting scent of fresh magnolias guides you through a quiet courtyard to this little piece of heaven, offering an array of yoga classes from early morning flows to after-dark restorative classes that will send both body and mind into a hazy slumber. And on days when you want to feel like you’re doing something without doing anything, don your yoga pants and head to the studio for a treatment or massage before watching the world go by from the comfort of Le Corner, the in-house tea bar and library.

Frame, London

"If it’s good enough for the cool kids of East London, it’s good enough for us – Frame is the place to work out if you’re game for a good time and ready to let go. One of our favourite classes is the Frame Rave which does exactly what is says on the tin. “It’s like hitting the dance floor with your best mates disguised as a workout,” says the gym of this almost-always sold out class. Enjoy 45 minutes of sweat-inducing cardio and still be home in bed by 10 pm with a cup of herbal tea and no hangover. Win-win.

Hard Candy, Milan

“Harder is better,” is the motto of this gym created in partnership with Madonna and where better to kickstart the new year than a studio affiliated with the queen of pop who wrote the rule book on ‘voguing’. The focus here is on group classes – the perfect excuse to pull your bestie along for the ride – offering everything from aerial yoga to stiletto dance workouts and an array of signature classes like Pound: Rock Hard, an intense dance class done while striking weighted drumsticks to the beat of the music... a Madonna track no doubt.
